Élan Real Estate Sales
In the summer of 2010, Élan Vacations underwent a company restructuring which resulted in the company’s president purchasing the majority shares from one of the original founding partners. This change in ownership opened the doors to a new management style and has allowed for the expansion and development of a fresh business plan. In the spring of 2011, Élan Vacations widened its doors to include a Real Estate Sales division; led by Broker/REALTOR Carolyn Hickok, and supported by the knowledge and experience of the entire Élan team.
At the time, many asked “why now?” and the answer was an easy one. New management meant new ideas. “It is our firm belief that the market is still three to four years away from the beginnings of a much needed turn-around. In the interim, we are committed to building long standing relationships with buyers and sellers alike, and will continue to serve both with the utmost integrity.”
While almost every local real estate company is founded on commission based subcontractors, Élan has taken a different approach. Their brokers are full-time, salaried employees with full benefits whose compensation is not determined by the “hard sell”. Rather, they have the ability and financial support to prudently match the right property to the right person, without the pressure of the “quick sale”.

Norman T. Bibeau– President/CEO/Sales Broker:
Having served 25 years as President of Norman Frances Associates, a direct mail marketing company located in Northern New Jersey, Norman brings to the team unlimited resources and a vast amount of expertise in the Marketing, Solicitation, and Direct Mail Campaign areas. Serving a variety of clients in the New York Metropolitan area, his diverse and innovative business experiences have brought a unique perspective to the team and business at hand. Officially taking over controlling interest in Élan Vacations in the summer of 2010, Norman has spent the past twelve months restructuring the company from the ground up. The biggest change, outside of day-to-day operations, has been the start up of Élan Real Estate Sales; a full-service sales division that focuses on the person rather than the deal, while . Norman is a licensed NC Real Estate Broker/REALTOR.
Carolyn Hickok – Sales Broker/Property Manager:
Carolyn joined the Élan team in 2010 as the primary contact in the company’s quiet start-up into real estate sales. Born in Asheville, NC, Carolyn has lived in many different areas of the United States and abroad. Fluent in Italian, Carolyn lived for a time in Sicily and served as a translator for the military assisting families to find off-base housing. Carolyn is the epitome of “Southern Hospitality” with the natural ability to relate to guests and property owners alike; making her the perfect match for Élan’s Real Estate Sales Division. Carolyn’s knowledge of local real estate combined with Élan’s business philosophy ensures your interests are our first priority- whether buyer or seller. Carolyn earned her Real Estate Broker’s License in 2005 and her Property and Casualty Insurance License in 2006. Carolyn has recently aquired her CSSS (Certififed Short Sale Seller) designation.
